The safety and security of your rental property tenants is a very important topic, and we’d like to bring it to your attention. Accidents and crimes are all too common in the world we live in, and unfortunately, many can be avoided. What are some things that you as a rental property owner can do to help your tenants feel safe and secure?
It all boils down to being proactive. From time to time, you might take a walk around your rental property and perform an inspection for yourself. Look for things that could cause accidents or things that could be improved to deter criminals. For example, are all stairways and walkways free of debris and objects, or are they a storage place for junk? Do the locks work properly on all doors and windows? Are there any fire hazards on the property that can be addressed or removed? Are smoke and carbon monoxide detectors installed on each floor?
