Your bathroom is undoubtedly the number one place in your home where mold and mildew are likely to grow out of control. Of course, there’s a significant difference between the two – mildew is typically flat, and grows on the top of surfaces. Mold can be bubbly and fuzzy, and grows underneath the surface. Mildew is usually easy to remove, but mold can be much harder. Since mold is a lot more tricky, let’s focus on it. How can you fight against mold growth in your bathroom?
The key is controlling the moisture levels in your bathroom. Every shower, flush, and brush contributes to the level of humidity in the air. Having a properly functioning and clean exhaust fan is critical. Opening the window(s), if any, from time to time can also be a good idea. It’s also important to take any damp clothes or towels out of the bathroom as soon as possible.
