As seasons change, so does the way your home is used. This is fairly obvious when it comes to the more extreme temperature changes in the year, but it’s also true when it comes to the more gradual effects of seasonal changes. For example, think about some of the ways your home is used differently during the typical summer season.
Does your family tend to spend more time at home during the summer? For example, perhaps you have a beautiful yard with great landscaping and lots of outdoor activities. Are you inviting people over to enjoy those? Are those people using your bathroom? Are you cooking more in the kitchen? Are you using a sprinkler system to keep your yard looking fresh and well-watered?
On the opposite side of the coin, does your family tend to spend less time at home during the summer? Is your water heater running constantly, even though there’s no one asking for hot water? Are there systems in your home that may benefit from more regular use during the summer months?
